Abby Dahlkemper marries Aaron Schoenfeld

On January 5th, 2021 Abby Dahlkemper married Aaron Shoenfeld in Santa Cruz, California. Abby Dahlkemper is a player for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. Aaron Schoenfeld is a player for Minnesota United FC. These two pro soccer players tied the knot soon after becoming engaged. The couple eloped at the Santa Cruz County clerk’s office and took portraits on the stunning bluffs by the ocean. It was a beautiful way to start the new year.

Abby and Aaron walked the foggy bluffs and admired the gorgeous scenery while I documented them on the sidelines. Their joy and kind personalities radiated through constant smiles. A few family members joined us while we explored and took advantage of the incredible backdrops.

We climbed down to the beach level to do a traditional Jewish glass breaking, in keeping with Aaron’s Jewish heritage. Traditionally the groom breaks the glass, but Aaron and Abby decided to both stomp on the glass! I loved that they shared this. This was a really fun example of how couples can elope but still incorporate some meaningful traditions into their day– and personalize them!
