Magical Outdoor Wedding Reception Decor Ideas
1. Lights, Stars and Lanterns!
Bring your reception to light by wrapping tree branches with twinkle lights and hanging paper star lanterns! This venue in Carmel, California has magic DOWN. The couple played off the existing feel by using mismatched vintage lanterns on their dinner tables and dessert table. They also put tea lights inside a variety of colorful textured glass goblets and candle holders. It was perfect for their fall wedding, since the sun goes down so early! 2. DIY Marbled Napkins
Marbled wedding decor is my new favorite trend! This bride and groom made their own marbled napkins with paint. Each one is super unique and made with fun, beachy colors to go with their coastal Big Sur wedding. See more of this intimate Big Sur wedding here!
3. Camp Vibes
Outdoor mountain weddings are the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a laid-back camp theme. I also think this aesthetic would be fun for a backyard wedding. This couple hired a company called Petite Street to bring in their super cute vintage trailer cocktail bar for their reception! They also rented a beautiful canvas tent to create a guest lounge space. The tent was filled with rugs, pillows and instruments to play with! Chalet View Lodge was the perfect venue for these camp vibes, but you could have fun with this theme in a lot of other outdoor settings too! See more of this Moonrise Kingdom themed wedding here!
4. Jungle Botanics with pops of color
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been loving the design trends with botanic elements. I have an ever-growing jungle in my house that keeps me happy when I can’t get out in nature as much as I’d like. This wedding inspiration shoot is all about the tropical vibes! We used a mixture of tropical fruit, King Protea and clippings of Monstera aka Split Leaf Palm to decorate this table setting. The eclectic mid-century elements gave the whole shoot a travel-inspired feeling. You may not be able to have a destination island wedding here at the incredible Haiku Mill on Maui, but you can create this vibe with potted plants! Use a variety of different ferns and vining plants. You could even create a living wall display. Tropical plants don’t grow well everywhere- so you could think about using these faux Monstera clippings from Ikea.
