Sparrow Valley Retreat Spring Wedding

Jennie and Stephen surrounded themselves with their innermost circle of people on their wedding day. They had a beautiful spring wedding at Sparrow Valley Retreat. This venue is in a gorgeous redwood forest in the Santa Cruz mountains.

My favorite part about this wedding day was that Jennie and Stephen made an effort to include and acknowledge their children in a thoughtful way. The kids walked their respective parent down the aisle and stood by them during the ceremony. But most notably, Jennie and Stephen read vows to the kids after exchanging their own wedding vows. I imagine it’s not easy for a kid to adjust to gaining a new parent and new siblings, so these vows to the children were incredibly touching to hear. I could tell that Jennie and Stephen care a ton about creating a strong, loving family. And I loved that!

After the ceremony, everyone gathered for a casual reception on the deck. The kids played in the hammock chair and nearly everyone else stopped to admire Jennie’s stunning ring. Appetizers and cake were the perfect offering for this late afternoon gathering. And just like magic, the intermittent rain held off during the entirety of the ceremony and reception.

Sparrow Valley Retreat is a new venue in the Santa Cruz mountains. It is one of my favorite redwood forest venues. The small venue has a stunning redwood ceremony area, lodging, room to camp, and a genuine retreat vibe. I highly recommend considering this venue for your wedding or elopement!
